Addison had a lot of fun things planned that last week or so of school. The first was a field trip to the UNF Eco-Adventure and Wildlife Sanctuary. I spent the morning with her learning about bugs, plants and going to the different learning stations the Rangers had set up.
Here they are looking at tiny fish and shrimp through a magnifying glass.Say what? There's a lot of poison ivy around here? Yes, there is. And I had no idea. Good thing to know next time we walk the trails.
Then there was field day. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. It was low 80's and there was a nice breeze. The kids had a blast playing all of the games.
Addison mastered these buckets. One kid would build it, the next would tear it down. Over and over again. I got a little dizzy watching them.
That same afternoon they held the last awards ceremony of the year. Addison received an award for Citizenship, working above standards, E Honor Roll and the Handwriting Hero award in her class.
Once again we got really lucky in the teacher department. Miss Greenhaw was fresh out of college, but she was great with the kids.
Ms. Johnson has been at Chets Creek for years and runs a great classroom. Addison always had great stories to tell of her time in class.
Addison just loves school. I hope her love for learning last another 10+ years.
We're so proud of you Addison! Keep up the good work. Now let's take that free milkshake coupon and get us a treat.
