The Easter bunny stopped by Grandma's house and left the girls all kinds of sweets in their baskets.

The Easter bunny came to our house too. He had a good feeling that the candy they got earlier would hold them over, but he couldn't go out without leaving a chocolate bunny. Addison was so pumped up for the chocolate bunny that he couldn't disappoint.

Easter baskets in your underwear. It doesn't get much better than that.

The Masters was on so Michael did most activities from the couch. Whoever decided to have the Masters on Easter weekend wasn't too bright.

Love these sweet girls. They both had such a great weekend.

church egg hunt

The church we attend had a big Easter egg hunt Saturday morning. There were a lot of kids and even more eggs. They had no trouble loading up their baskets.

Morgan and Dane have been dating since they were babies. They are no longer in preschool together, but she still gets to spend time with Dane during Sunday school. Every time they see each other they act as if no time has passed. While all the hustle and bustle of egg hunting was going on around them, they slipped into this little house to check out their eggs. Dane's mom and I just sat back and watched. And took pictures.

Saturday afternoon we headed to my mom's. Morgan was fighting sleep. Michael and I literally watched her pass out right before our eyes. She had a very fun, but busy day.

One weekend egg hunt down. Two more to go.

easter eggs

We had such a great time dyeing eggs this year. The girls were really into it and had a lot of fun. I did catch Morgan banging the eggs together and then wondering how they cracked, but it didn't matter. We dyed those anyway.

There's never a project without any tears. Morgan had to share the egg scooper thing because we only had one. She wasn't too happy about that. I think she was just so excited she didn't want to stop. 

They loved using the crayons to draw pictures and write their name on the eggs. After they were showered and the eggs were dry they decorated them with stickers and tattoos.

The finished product. They were so proud of the designs they created.

And yes. In our house we dye our eggs using Christmas towels. We're festive all year round.

good friday

I love this picture of the girls on the train at the mall. I needed to go to the mall so I could exchange a pair of shoes. It turned into a Minny nightgown for Morgan, Build-a-Bear for Addison, and an Easter dress for me. I really don't splurge on the girls and take them "shopping" because I have plenty of family that does it for me. It was nice to spend some time with them and let them do something fun and different.

easter at school

Addison had a little snack party at school today. They made pigs in a blanket and had an Easter Little Debbie cake. You know the ones. The egg shaped brownies covered in icing and the cakes shaped like butterflies. I did NOT have one. I took pictures with my real camera, but my battery died and I can't upload them. Thank goodness for cell phones.

After the snack party they went on the hunt for Easter eggs hidden outside. Each were allowed four eggs. Addison found the golden egg. None of the eggs were stuffed with goodies, but the teachers let them put one quarter in each egg when they got back inside. Addison got three extra quarters in her golden egg.

Before I left I went to give Morgan a kiss. The class was outside and she was fully engaged in the water table and spray bottle. She barely even noticed I was there she was having so much fun. Then I caught her attention and she was still being silly.

I love being able to break up my day and spend a little time with them. It's just as much a treat for me as it is for them.

Someone is excited about their upcoming 5th birthday. We've made a paper countdown chain and everything.

bike riding

Look at this sweet girl riding her bike. She calls it her old bike because it used to be Addison's. It doesn't matter though. She loves it!

painting project

We had one little blue stool in the bathroom. It never failed. Every time hands needed to be washed or teeth needed to be brushed the girls would argue over who got to use the stool. Instead of buying another stool Michael made them a super long stool that they could both stand on at the same time. We took it out in the yard to paint it white.

The idea was to put two coats of white paint on and then add some pink and purple decorations. I have been waiting to blog these pictures until the final reveal. However, this project was started 2/18 and the pink and purple paint hasn't seen the light of day.

On average it takes about 3 months for projects to be completed in our house. So at this rate we're still ahead of the game.

It was definitely a fun project. The baby dolls thought so too.

levi

This is Levi. He's a one and a half pound, two month old Yorkie. He belongs to a friend of ours. The girls met him the other day and instantly fell in love. I had to remind them several times about taking turns.

Sweet little Levi was at the yard sale this past weekend and Morgan played with him for hours. He'd lick her and she would pet and cuddle him. She even played a game of chase with him, although I'm not sure who was doing the chasing.

The girls love animals and so do I. I basically grew up on a farm. I'm not against having a dog, cat, fish, hamster, etc. I'm just fully aware of how much work and time goes in to having a pet. We are surrounded by friends and family who have plenty of pets so the kids surely get their animal fix when they need one.

I want them to have an animal to love and bond with, just not right now. None of us are ready for that responsibility yet. In the meantime, we'll have puppy play dates with Levi.

she's a big girl now

I was an emotional wreck. I was preparing for the yard sale and decided to take the crib bedding off to try and sell it. It was about that time for us to convert the crib to a toddler bed so it was no longer needed. Five years we used that bedding. I remember setting it all up as soon as I found out we were having  a girl. And when we found out we were having another girl it just made sense to use it again.

Then reality hit me. I'm not having any more babies. I've made that decision and I feel it is the right one, but there's just something about babies that makes me emotional. Especially when you think about your own.

Then it hit me again. My own baby is growing up. No more baby stuff needed. She is a big girl now.

I cried. I cried some more. Then I laughed, hugged my girls and cried even more.

Addison is so excited that she can get in bed with Morgan now. I secretly wait for the days when they wake up in the morning and climb into bed with each other. They can read stories, play with dolls and just cuddle.

Her first night in the bed was a success. After putting her down the first time she did get up twice, but then she made it through the night with no problems. I think it was just the newness of being able to get out on her own. She gets so excited to sleep in her big girl bed and every morning brags about how she didn't get up last night.

The rolled up blankets were to keep the paci's from falling through the rails. That got old quick so on Sunday we quit the paci cold turkey. She gathered the three of them up and walked them over to the neighbor. She told April that they were for her 7 month old niece and that she didn't need them anymore because she was a big girl. She never looked back and hasn't asked for them once. I'm so glad that's over. This week we're going to let her wear panties to bed.

So much, so fast. But she can handle it.

Mommy...not so much.
