Peanut Butter

Addison is really into peanut butter recently. Not on a sandwich or cracker, but straight out of the jar. It's been her first request every night this week when we get home. Yeah, it's messy, but so darn cute.

Please excuse my rusty patio furniture. It's the next big purchase we plan on making.

Photos

This is what happens when I take my camera out. Addison wants to take pictures of me. One major issue though.

She holds it backwards.

Party time

Warning! Picture overload.

We had a great little party for Addison on Saturday. Michael's parents were able to come in from TN to celebrate with us and my Mom and Jim came up for the day as well. It was the perfect low key celebration. Since I'm very pregnant (and happen to be sick) I had not intention of throwing a big shin-dig like last year. Instead, I splurged on these delicious cupcakes from
CamiCakes.

Addison has been singing Happy Birthday since we went to her first birthday party in January. And for the past week she's been singing it to herself. She was so excited when everyone gathered around to sing to her. And then she got a little shy. These have to be my two favorite pictures.

Addison adores Michael. Most mornings Michael is the one to wake her up. On the days that I make it in there to do it, the first thing she says to me is "Where's daddy?". I love these two so much.

Then her fancy cupcake ended up here. That's her looking up at Michael wondering what just happen.

I thought the biggest hit of the day was going to be the swing set. Don't get me wrong, she loved it! My mom and Jim were originally going to get this for Addison at Christmas, but we made them wait since we weren't sure if we were going to sell the house. But if I had to guess her favorite gift it would probably be the plastic shopping cart with food (seen in the background of the below picture). I think she pushed that thing around for 3 days straight. She has since backed off a little and now we swing for about 45 minutes every night. I wonder how she doesn't get sick.

The doctor's kit was another big hit. She walked around that afternoon telling us all that we were sick and then she made us feel all better. We tried to get a family shot and she wouldn't take it off. Michael and Addison always take the cutest pictures together.

Here's my attempt at a picture with her. I'm only posting this because I can laugh at myself. I think this is a mixture of her wanting her stethoscope back that Michael took from her and me telling Michael to give it back so we can get a decent picture. Like how that turned out.

It was a fun day. Addison had a great time with her grandparents around and the girl's from next door. And I had a good time eating cupcakes, Chick-fil-a and lounging in the backyard while everyone else entertained my child. :)

Full term

Basically I could pop any day now. Baby girl is pretty well developed at this point and is just putting on weight. And I think I can feel every ounce. Last night specifically was a little rough. I had a lot of hip and pelvic pain which made it hard to get comfortable. Add in the anxiety I'm starting to feel about the surgery and I don't think I slept much at all.

I went to the doctor yesterday and everything is still right on schedule. The baby's heart rate was at 148 and she was kicking around the whole time. I was very impressed when I got on the scale and there was ZERO weight gain. Not one pound in nine days. I was so happy. So happy that I went to get a frappuccino and then I felt horrible the rest of the day. I'm swelling just a little bit, but nothing compared to Addison.

Things are starting to come together. I still have some straightening up to do in the nursery, but I can't find the motivation. I guess I'm not too concerned since she'll be in the bassinet for awhile. I probably should pack a bag for the hospital just in case. I'm excited, anxious and a little nervous all at the same time.

Here are some self portraits. I figured out how to use the timer on my good camera. And I figured it's been awhile since I've shown my face. Not the best since it was taken in the bathroom mirror, but you get the idea.

And...I think Michael and I have come up with a name. Just like Addison, it's the only thing that we can both agree on. He's a little more into it than I am, but I like it and it's growing on me. I actually spent some time thinking about it last night when I couldn't sleep. I think since I've made it this far that I'll just keep it to myself for another two weeks. :)

Chuck E Cheese

On Friday, Addison's actual birthday, we took her to Chuck E Cheese for dinner. I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever been there. It's everything I thought it would be. Full of loud, noisy kids running around with pizza all over their face. Addison fit right in. She had such a good time on the rides and even went down the slide in the toddler area. The giant horse was a big hit and she rode her first carousel.

The giant horse. I even climbed the steps and rode it with her.

The school bus ride.

She was so excited about the giant animated Chuck E that would come out from behind the curtain to sing. She kept jumping up and down at the table and tried to get Michael to join in.

We had a really good time and I can definitely see another trip in the future. Next time I'll be able to participate in the alcohol that they serve for the parents. Brilliant idea! I'm sure it makes the loud, noisy kids running around a little more tolerable.

2 year stats

I took Addison for her two year check up on Tuesday. And the numbers are:

Weighed in at 25 pounds, 8 ounces
34.25 inches tall
Her noggin is 18.875 inches around
BMI is 20%

Addison was so excited to do everything like a "big girl now". She gets to stand against the wall and get measured so her height may have gone down a little. And they no longer do percentiles. Now it's BMI which I haven't read anything about so I really don't know what it means. In a nutshell, she's long and lean. She still isn't a big breakfast eater, but the doc said her weight is good so that's all that matters. She had her finger pricked for an iron checked and never even flinched. I was shocked as she watched her the whole time. There were a couple of tears when it came to the shot, but she was fine as soon as it was done. Her hearing and vision were also checked and she passed with flying colors. The docs was once again impressed with her speech and verbal awareness. Honestly, I'm quite impressed myself. She talks and sings ALL THE TIME!!! She knows a ton of songs, her ABC's, she can count to 16 and knows all her colors. We're currently working on jumping (with two feet off the ground at the same time) and she almost has it. The next big thing is the paci. We're going to try and convince her that it is for the baby. If that doesn't work then I'll give her a couple of weeks to adjust to her sister and then we're quitting cold turkey.

I have a ton of pictures from her party which I hope to post tomorrow. And I'm working on some video too. It's just been crazy so I haven't had time to edit all of my stuff. It's coming though.

Addison turns 2

Where has the time gone? I can't believe my baby girl is two years old today. It seems like just yesterday that she was all bundled up and I was holding her for the first time. Love at first sight. I don't think I'll ever be able to express the love I have in my heart for my children.

Last year she had a love/hate relationship with her cake. This year all she wants is cupcakes and chick-fil-a. Her wish is my command.

She's such a fun and energetic little girl. Always smiling, running and dancing. Whether it's something she says or something she does, she always knows how to put a smile on my face. She has the sweetest heart and she sure does love her mommy and daddy.

I can't wait to see what the next year has in store for us. I imagine a lot more giggles, a few tears and a ton of memories.

We love you Addison. Hope you have a Happy Birthday!

Bunny Foo Foo

We colored eggs on Saturday night. It was all going smooth until Addison started throwing the eggs into the cups. The towel on the table was red by the time it was over.

Sunday morning the Easter bunny brought her a basket. I put it on her nightstand so she would see it when she woke up. My mom always put them on the foot of our bed so it was the first thing we would see. Addison was so excited. I put her new white sandals in there to try and convince her to wear them. Lately she only wants to wear her tennis shoes or flippy flops. Thankfully it worked and she wore them only because bunny foo foo gave them to her.

When we got home from church I wanted a nice picture of the two of us in the backyard. Who am I kidding? The child hates the camera lately. I got this one inside. Not too bad.
Because this is all she wanted to do outside.
After Easter lunch (ham and homemade mac & cheese), a cranky afternoon, long nap, waking up on the wrong side of the bed and a mini melt down, Addison said to me that she was "all better" and wanted to look for eggs in the backyard. She was so proud of herself when she found an egg.

We had such a fun day, just the three of us. It was a little odd not going to my mom's, but I'm really pregnant and cranky so I thought I should just stay home. To see the rest of our Easter fun, click HERE.

One of my guardian angels

With the hectic day, crazy week and busy month that I've had, I forget things. But I could never forget my grandmother's birthday. She would have been 92 years young today. She was such a funny lady. When she would blow out candles on her cake she would pretend that her teeth would fall out. To some it may have been a little gross, but to us grandkids it was super funny.

In the midst of all that is going on, I know that she is watching over me. And if she could make me laugh she would.

Happy Birthday Grandma!

35 weeks

I'm a little late with this post. What's new.

Both my mom and Michael were able to go to the ultrasound appt on Thursday. It was really fun to be able to see baby girl so far along. She's weighing in at about 5 lbs, 13 oz and is already head down. We got to see her practice her breathing a little, all four chamber of her heart beating and the blood flow to her kidney's. Doc says she looks great. She's so cramped in there so the pictures aren't great, but I really did love this one of her nose and lips. I can't wait to see what she looks like.
I haven't had a real belly shot in awhile, but I thought this was too funny. After coloring Easter eggs on Saturday night, Addison wanted to use up some more of her stickers. And she thought that baby sister should join in the fun.
Mom - just so you know, those stickers are hard and they hurt when you peel them off. Thanks! :)

Doc visit

I've been a blog slacker lately. I feel bad. But such is life when work is busy because of tax time, your almost two year old is well, a two year old, and you're trying to clean and organize with every free second that you have. I have stuff to post, including the cutest video of Addison helping Olivia the pig go potty. Just no time to edit and get it on the site. It will happen soon.

I did make it to the doctor today. Nothing new to report. Heart rate was at 150 and I'm up 4 pounds in two weeks. That puts me at 140. I wasn't really happy about it, but I'm starting not to care at this point. Weekly appointments going forward. I have an ultrasound tomorrow morning so I hope to have some fun pics to share. My latest ultrasound with Addison was at 18 weeks so I'm excited to see what baby girl looks like this far along.

And today I got asked by the nurses if I have a name for the baby. HA! Michael and I were so close to finalizing something and then he informed me two weeks ago that he's "not feeling it". The problem is that I want something a little different to go with Addison and he's leaning toward something a little more traditional. We're both all over the place. I know in the end she'll have the perfect name for her, but I sure wish we could come up with something.

I hope to post ultrasound info tomorrow.

Baby love

This past weekend I had a FANTASTIC baby shower thrown by lovely friend Shannon. She came up with the "Here's to you baby #2" theme so the whole party revolved around the martinis. That's right. The booze. We had martinis served and the cutest of all gifts for our guests - martini glasses with a shot of Vodka and a mixer, wrapped up in pink and green tulle. Hey, the girl knows how to throw a party.

Since I already have a LOT of stuff that is being reused from Addison, I really didn't need much. It was really just a low key event with friends, exactly how I wanted it to be. Most people brought diapers and wipes which are much appreciated and needed. And let's face it. For the pregnant chick it's really all about the cake.

Shannon did get me this cute little outfit. Love it!

Addison enjoyed all of the festivities and the kids in the house. I don't think I saw her for an hour. She is still asking me "where did all the people go".

Thanks Shannon for doing all of this for me. We're so glad that you got to come and visit. We miss you already. And right after we took this picture we went out for manicures and pedicures. We both so needed it. Man do I look pregnant.

Thanks to everyone who came to the party and all of the fabulous gifts. I had such a great time and can't wait for baby girl to be here so she can meet all of the wonderful people in my life.
