My little fish

Addison started her swimming lessons on July 13th and I am amazed at how fast she is learning. Kristen is teaching her the ISR method of swim, float, swim and the lessons are only 10 minutes a day. I was able to take her the first week of lessons, but I haven't been to a lesson since the 17th. Yesterday's lesson got pushed back because of the rain so both Michael and I were able to go. Perfect time for some new video.

Please forgive all the chatter. The parents are supposed to be very supportive during the lesson so you hear a lot of "good jobs" from us. And Kristen is explaining to me some of the method in the first video so we can practice on the weekends.

I'm so proud of her and can't wait to take her this weekend to enjoy what she has learned.

Finding a groove

Now that I'm back at work I have a little less time for picture editing. I'm still taking them, but I'm trying to figure out when is the best time to upload, edit and organize them. Most of the good ones that I've taken recently are on my bigger camera, but I pulled a couple off the point and shoot today.

A couple of weeks ago we went to visit my mom and we took the girls to church. My mom's church is small. Very small. But they now have a couple of kids that attend so mom started a Sunday school class. Addison was such a good student and loved learning about David and Goliath. Morgan slept the whole time.

Please note the way that she is holding her crayon. I have tried so many times to show her the correct way to hold a writing utensil and she refuses to let me go anywhere near her hand. Have I mentioned that she is very independent these days.

Morgan and Jim.

***The matching dresses are from a coworker who also owns a kids clothing shop in St. Augustine. She has the cutest stuff and even gave Addison the barrettes with her name on them.

And Morgan with her fingers. I always seem to catch her sleeping with one eye slightly open.

Things are going really well and we're slowly getting everyone on a schedule. Addison is still in bed around 8 every night. Morgan normally goes down between 8:30 and 9:00. By the time all of that is over I try to watch a little tv (you know, I can't get behind on my shows). Morgan is still waking up once a night to eat and even though it's a short feeding it throws off my sleep. I'm not complaining though. It could be worse.

I'll try to organize photos and get some up this weekend along with more progress reports on both Addison and Morgan. I also hope to have Shutterfly updated soon.

Happy Birthday...

...to the best daddy and husband in the world. These two little girls love you so much.

And so do I. Lots.

Back to work

I'm going to miss watching The Price is Right at 11, Yes, Dear at 3 and all the HGTV and TLC shows you can handle in between.

But most of all I'm going to miss hugging her neck, kissing her from head to toe, and snuggling with her during naptime.

Even though Addison is a two year old through and through and sometimes makes me want to pull my hair out, I love her to pieces. It's been fun hanging out in the morning and picking her up early for some fun before Michael gets home. Even at the worst of times Addison can still make me laugh. Like this morning when she wanted Morgan to watch Caillou with her. I love the look on Morgan's face.

Michael is home with Morgan for 3 weeks. I hope they can form a bond that will last forever.

Oddly familiar

Morgan found her hands this week. Her fingers have been firmly planted in her mouth more than I would like. But, unlike Addison, I'm not going to fight it. It's a phase that I'm sure will pass. She's still addicted to her paci.

Notes

Morgan rolled over from her tummy to her back twice yesterday. I know her heavy head played a huge role in that, but it's still fun to see either way.

She's also starting to swat at her hanging toys a lot more. Today she was getting a kick out of the yellow dragonfly.

And my attempt at modifying Morgan's sleep schedule is working. She now goes down around 9, wakes at 3:30 to eat and is up around 7. She has been waking up around 1:30, but I've weaned her off of the feeding. Now she just needs a few rocks in the chair and she is back out.

Addison started her swimming lessons yesterday. She didn't scream as much as I thought she would, but the teacher says it does get worse before it gets better

Summertime

Here are some of my favorite pictures from our trip to Tennessee.

It's amazing she wasn't sick the whole time. Addison ate so much ice cream on this trip. Here she is enjoying a cone with Michael in Gatlinburg.
And again on the 4th. I think this was her second one for the day.
Angela holding Morgan. She only gave her up when it was time for Morgan to eat.
Michael must have caught this. So sweet.
Even though it was WAY past her bedtime, she was so good. I'm so glad she enjoyed the fireworks as much as she did. The naked baby liked them too.
And our first photo as a family of four. And it only took two months to get this shot. Not too bad.

4th of July

The video is a little dark, but it was night time. And it doesn't really matter because you only need your ears for the best part. This little girl makes me so happy.

Stats

Waiting for the doctor.

Weight: 10 lbs, 13.5 oz (50th percentile)
Height: 22.75 inches (50th - 75th percentile)
Head: 14.875 inches (25th percentile)

Morgan is still a little peanut, but she's growing just like she should so that's all that matters. She had such a good time laying on the paper, cooing the whole time. Then she feel asleep right before her shots. She took all 3 of them like a champ and only cried for a few seconds after they were done. The doc and I discussed her sleeping schedule and I decided to try something different last night. She will normally sleep for 5 to 6 hours on the first stetch, but that starts at 7ish. So last night I spaced her feedings out and fed her around 9. When she woke up at 1 a.m. (like she always does) I decided to not feed her and just rock her back to sleep. It worked! She slept until 3:30 and then again until I woke her up at 7. I'm hoping this is the start of something.

2 months old

Nothing special. Just a little video of me hanging out with Morgan.

I can't believe I have to go back to work in 12 days. I'm going to miss this.

We're home

We had a great time in Tennessee this past week. I have a lot of fun photos and the cutest video of Addison enjoying her first real fireworks. I need some time to unpack and get organized. Hopefully I can update soon.
