our little bean (or blob)

Everything looks perfect! We got to see the little bean on the screen and the even tinier heart beating away. It may not be completely accurate, but the heartbeat was about 147 beats per minute. Perfect! It sure does ease my mind to know that the baby looks good and is growing exactly like it should be. There really isn't much to see at this point, but here are our first baby pictures.

Since I am now the big 3-0 they are going to do another ultrasound in about 4 weeks to do some standard Down Syndrome testing. I have the option of not doing it since I am very very low risk, but why not. It's another opportunity to give this baby the best prenatal care there is and I get to have another look while they're at it.

Just one more note. They found a cyst on my ovary today but said that was completely normal in early pregnancy. It should completely go away once all of my hormones even out. My next appointment with the doc isn't until October 27th. It seems so far away.
