It seems like forever ago because I'm that slow in blogging lately. But I know you are dying to see the pics from my trip. Allison and I took a weekend trip to visit Shannon and the sights of NYC. I haven't been away from the girls since Morgan was born so I needed a little adult time.
We flew out Friday morning and my boss was kind enough to get us a driver for the day. Meet Izzy. A true New Yorker. Heavy accent, crazy driver. It was the best.We started on Wall Street, stopping at the Stock Exchange and then walked to Ground Zero and the surrounding churches. Just passed Trinity is St. Paul's Chapel. They have memorials, pictures and stories from 9/11 throughout the small building. A lot of the workers would go there to rest on one of the cots they had set up. You would often see their uniforms hung on the pews. It still makes me tear up to this day. From there we headed to Canal Street for a little haggling. Allison didn't know what to think, but she sure was happy when she got a purse for $27. I was a little intimidated at first, but have to admit that it was fun once you get the hang of it.
Oh Shake Shack. How I love you. The grease in between your buns is heavenly and the vanilla shake melts in your mouth. I only wish I could shove you in my suitcase and bring you back to Florida.
At Grand Central Station. Still a fun place to stop and people watch. So we did a lot of eating on the trip. Can you blame me? NYC has great food. And great pizza.Look! NYC loves Tim Tebow too.You know it has to be a good bar when that is the sign hanging outside. And it was. We entered the bar around 9:30 for one drink. That's ONE drink. Then we see them setting up for karaoke. None of us had the guts to sing (on stage) but we sure had fun dancing. And the next thing we know Shannon had about 13 drinks and it was 3 in the morning.Such a fun night. We met some new friends from NY and Scotland. And there was this guy from Germany. Him and his friends were a treat. We laughed so hard at this guys dancing (which I have on video) and his friend passed out and swaying in the chair (which I also have on video - I love my Flip!).And I have a picture of me eating all of Shannon's olives, but I decided not to post that one.
We were all exhausted on Sunday, but still had a fun time at the Lion King and dinner. And we got to see Times Square at night.Such a fun trip. Thanks to Allison for traveling with me. And thanks to Shannon for having us. And I promise to lock the rest of the bar pictures and video away in the vault.

Al...you are welcome. I have to admit it was kind of fun seeing you experience some of the things we did for the first time.
Shan - I think I got a buzz just from eating your olives. Those things were huge and full of vodka. Yum.
