Just like with all birthdays, Morgan woke up to streamers and balloons hanging from the fan in the living room. I wanted to do streamers in her doorway like Addison, but this child will not stay in her bed at night. I didn't want the memory of her birthday associated with being trapped in her room. Instead she got the living room. On the table underneath were several presents for her to open. This Barbie that Addison insisted I get for her.
Addison went to the book fair the day before her birthday and picked out this book. She was so happy and proud to give it to her. And that $20 is from my Aunt Karen. I wouldn't let her open the card until her actual birthday since I was lacking in presents. That afternoon Michael and I provided lunch to all the kids in her class. It was fun to sit down and eat with all of them. Michael was a hit and got a hug from all the boys. I realized that one way to get her to smile for pictures is to promise a silly face picture. Here you go.
Then it was time for cake, but instead we did donuts. Everyone does cake so I decided to mix it up a little. And who doesn't like a chocolate donut with sprinkles? The kids know that when the candles come out they have to put their hands in their lap. This is Morgan's shy face mixed with a little awe from the fire face.
Getting a little help with the candles from Daddy.
See? I told you the donuts were a hit. This sweet, silly girl. I love her more than I love donuts. And that's a lot.
One self portrait before heading back to work. This girls sure does make me smile.
