Friday was the last day of school. My emotions were all over the place. Shocking, I know. It all seems like it's gone by so fast. It was the last time my Kindergartner waited at the bus stop.
Addison wanted special hair for the last day. She asked for braids with ribbons tied on the ends. I'm getting better at this.
She had some treats for the teachers. Fresh baked banana muffins and Reina cookies. It was only a half day so I went in around 11:30 to pick her up. They were all sitting on the carpet waiting for dismissal. Even on the last day I made her follow the teachers rules.
Addison and her good friend Scarlette. I hope these girls stay friends forever.
It's a tradition at the school to have the 5th grade clap out on the last day. All of the students line the halls as the 5th graders take their last walk around. There's clapping, cheering, high fives and some tears. It's a pretty cool thing to be a part of.
The school year ended the same way it started. With me in tears. We stopped at the front door for one more picture on the way out. It seems like yesterday that I took this picture. So many good things happen this year. I'm so proud of the person that Addison is turning out to be. All of that just makes me cry happy tears.
And then I made her do a little photo shoot when we got home. I can't wait to go back years from now and show her the first and last day photos.
What a fun year. I can't wait to see what 1st grade has in store for us.
